Hot 100: Mariah Carey Becomes First Artist To Spend 90 Cumulative Weeks at #1 Thanks to ‘All I Want for Christmas’

Christmas 2022 may be over, but Pop icon Mariah Carey is still unwrapping gifts thanks to her perennial hit, ‘All I Want for Christmas.’

The song, already etched in Billboard Hot 100 history books for making her the only artist to have a #1 hit across four different decades, recently made history when it topped the tally for a fourth time – a triumph that made her the first female act to own three songs that have spent at least 10 weeks at the chart’s summit respectively.

Those history-making wins appear to only be the tip of the iceberg, the refreshed edition of the hit list reveals.

Details inside.

Billboard took to press Tuesday (December 27) to announce Carey held tight to the Hot 100’s #1 spot for yet another week – beating the likes of holiday favorites ‘Rockin Around the Christmas Tree’ (Brenda Lee), ‘Last Christmas’ (Wham), and others.

Its overall 11th week at the Pop chart’s pinnacle, the extended reign of ‘All’ placed the GRAMMY-winning diva in a new category all her own.

Already the artist with the most cumulative weeks atop the Hot 100 thanks to her 19 #1 hits (the most of any solo act), the festive tune’s endured tenancy at the top gives Mimi her 90th career week in such placement (a first for the hitlist).

Among all acts, her closest competition comes from Elvis Presley (79 career weeks at #1), Rihanna (60 career weeks at #1), The Beatles (59 career weeks at #1), and Drake (54 career weeks at #1).
