In a surprising turn of events, a health and wellness company called Elite Mind Solutions has filed a lawsuit against NBA superstar Kyrie Irving. The company claims that Irving hired them and their highly esteemed therapist, Natasha McCartney, for a family retreat he organized in the summer of 2024.
The retreat was supposed to cater to around 50-60 people, according to Irving’s initial statement. However, just days before the event, Irving allegedly informed them that the number of attendees would increase to around 115. To their astonishment, when they arrived at the retreat, there were approximately 150 people present.
Despite this unexpected increase, Elite Mind Solutions asserts that they fulfilled all the therapeutic exercises and sessions they had promised. Additionally, they claim to have provided crisis management services and grief counseling after a tragic death occurred at the event.
The real contention arose when Elite Mind Solutions sent invoices to Irving, totaling a whopping $390,710 for their services. Shockingly, Irving has allegedly refused to pay the outstanding amount and now, the health and wellness company is now taking legal action against him, accusing him of breaching the contract and more.
This lawsuit has certainly sent shockwaves through the health and wellness community, as Irving’s reputation as a professional athlete and advocate for self-care and mental wellbeing now seemingly clashes with the allegations made against him. It remains to be seen how this litigation will unfold, but one thing is for sure – it has undoubtedly put a dent in Irving’s pristine public image. Let’s see how things turn out in the law court.
