Although many New York Giants supporters are still angry that the team allowed Saquon Barkley to sign a free-agent contract last summer, the general manager of the team seems to have no regrets, expressing his happiness for Barkley following his first Super Bowl victory!
Prior to the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Joe Schoen was interviewed by the media. He was immediately questioned about how the team’s past first-round draft pick helped the Eagles win their second Lombardi trophy in franchise history.
He stated: “I’m happy for Saquon,”. “Obviously he went on to win the Super Bowl and we wish him nothing but the best.”
“I’m happy for Saquon, obviously he went on to win the Super Bowl and we wish him nothing but the best. We were at a different place in our build.”

It didn’t make sense to recruit the 28-year-old running back at the time, according to the fourth-year general manager, who highlighted their build.
You can decide if this was Schoen’s attempt to put on his finest poker face. Schoen’s choice to let Barkley depart was severely condemned by many in the league. Additionally, it contributed to last year’s Hard Knocks’ viral moment when John Mara, the team’s owner, claimed he would not sleep if Saquon visited their division opponents.

Barkley had one of the greatest seasons in league history, turning his worst nightmare into a reality. The seven-year veteran came within 100 yards of breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record with 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Big Blue’s 100th season ended with a 3-13 record, making it one of the poorest seasons in the team’s history in New York.
Barkley is expected to remain in the City of Brotherly Love for at least two more years, and it doesn’t appear that he will be slowing down anytime soon!
