Simone Biles is tired of people encroaching on her personal space, and she hasn’t minced any words. The legendary gymnast, who recently returned from a South African honeymoon, made it abundantly evident that being touched or grabbed in public is strictly forbidden.

On March 7, Biles posted on Threads, sparking a flood of comments from followers who concurred that athletes should have boundaries:

“The easiest way to irritate me is to touch or grab me when I’m in public,”

Biles has had to cope with unwelcome physical contact throughout her career, so this is more than simply small annoyances. She was bumped against by a cameraman during the Paris Olympics.

Biles, who was clearly annoyed but maintained her composure, cautioned: “If one of these cameramen hit me one more time, we’re going to have an issue.”

She smiled as she spoke, but the message was clear: don’t go overboard. Given her past, many people find Biles’ adamant stance to be very acceptable.

She was among the courageous women who came out to testify against Larry Nassar, the former doctor for USA Gymnastics, who sexually assaulted numerous athletes while claiming that it was medical therapy. She was deeply scarred by the incident, which increased her adamance about establishing limits.
