The chance to play with emerging star Victor Wembanyama was the primary reason Durant, who averaged 26.6 points and six rebounds per game the previous season, expressed interest in joining the Spurs. Negotiations between the two teams are still at a standstill in spite of this. According to reports, Phoenix believes that the Spurs’ suggested trade packages are not worth much, so a deal is improbable.
