Ciara’s ‘How We Roll’ Becomes Her Highest-Charting R&B Hit Since 2013’s ‘Body Party’

The same week Ciara made headlines for giving birth to her fourth child she was also delivered news her latest hit, ‘How We Roll,’ had rolled to a new height on the Billboard charts.

Details inside.

As previously reported, the Chris Brown-assisted ‘Roll’ has quietly become Cici’s biggest hit over the last decade.

Despite a modest opening on R&B charts in August upon its release, the slow-burning tune found its footing on radio in the weeks that followed and eventually soared to the top 20 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts respectively by the end of November.

For context, these tallies rank the most-played R&B and Hip-Hop songs played on Urban and Urban Adult stations in the United States.

The refreshed edition of the former tally now shows the Deli Banger-produced bop comfortably at #9 – the highest position Ciara’s reached on it since 2015’s ‘I Bet’ bolted to a #7 peak. There, it’s become her 15th top 10 hit.

Faring even better on the updated version of the latter hitlist, ‘Roll’ has jetted to #6. The rung is the highest she’s touched on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay since 2013’s ‘Body Party’ danced its way to #1 for 3 weeks. There, ‘Roll’ has become her 15th top 10 hit as well.

Bolstered by a Lil Wayne-assisted remix, Ci’s latest hit has also enjoyed gains on streaming platforms – so much so we could see the cut crack the Hot 100 after the rush of holiday tunes dissipates.
