In news that comes as an unexpected twist in the evolving prison story of Tory Lanez, the man reportedly responsible for stabbing him 14 times now says he was defending himself from the ‘Say It’ hitmaker.

As reported here, Lanez – who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for his involvement in the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion – was hospitalized after being stabbed over a dozen times during a prison attack at California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi on May 12.

The incident seemingly put more fuel behind his legal team’s push to have the Canadian star released full stop – even holding a press conference and petitioning the California governor to pardon him in light of “new evidence.”

While nothing’s become of said evidence as of time of this report, Lanez’s dad – Sonstar Peterson – announced his son will be recuperating from a new facility to steer clear of the man who allegedly attacked him: Santino Casio.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Casio alleges his brutal attack on the rapper was self defense.

“I rushed him. I just kept slamming him and stabbing him,” Santino shared after saying Lanez seemingly revealed before the incident occurred.

When quizzed on if his intent was to kill Tory, the suspect was quick to reject the notion.

“No, not at all,” he said. “But, I thought I’d seen a weapon; I felt threatened. And, when I felt like a sting in my leg, I thought ‘oh, sh-t…he stabbed me!’ So, I moved back and kept stabbing him more.”

Later in the interview, Casio – who is already serving a life sentence for other crimes he’s been convicted of – said he heard rumors the rapper put a “bounty” on him and assumed Lanez was coming to complete the job himself.

Reports have it the Canadian hitmaker (born Daystar Peterson) had 14 stab wounds after the brutal attack: 7 times in the back, 4 times in the torso, and 3 times in the head.
