The New York Jets lost to the Indianapolis Colts 28-27 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, enduring yet another heartbreaking loss. In addition to the final score, this Week 11 setback was a clear illustration of poor communication and lost opportunities.

The Jets were ahead seven points after quarterback Aaron Rodgers‘ first career touchdown pass to tight end Kenny Yeboah in the fourth quarter. Going for a two-point conversion would have been the sensible next move, increasing the lead to nine points and turning the game into a two-possession contest. The Jets, however, decided to kick the extra point, which put the Colts within striking distance.

At first, it appeared that the ruling stood when the Jets’ defense thwarted the Colts’ two-point conversion try. But the offensive effort failed to close the deal. The Jets’ field goal following a failed fourth-and-two conversion was followed by a six-play, game-winning drive led by Indianapolis quarterback Anthony Richardson, who finished with a four-yard rushing touchdown.
