To say Gwen Stefani‘s latest visit to ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon‘ was “B-A-N-A-N-A-S” would be an understatement.
While hot on the promo trail in support of her latest album, the November 15-released ‘Bouquet,’ Stefani dropped by the late-night talk show to perform the album’s title track last week.
She doubled back for its popular ‘Classroom Instruments’ segment to reimagine her biggest solo hit to date – 2004’s ‘Hollaback Girl.’
Using a banana as a microphone in reference to the song’s unforgettable call-and-answer portion, she was joined by Fallon who played a kazoo and drum while the GRAMMY-winning resident band The Roots offered accompaniment with xylophones, tambourines, and even cheerleader pompoms.
