VIDEO: Karl-Anthony Towns Forced To Change Into Knicks Gear At Halftime After Showing Up In Eagles Shirt

Karl-Anthony Towns showed up to the game in an Eagles shirt, supporting his favorite football team. Nobody thought anything of it, right? I mean, it’s just a shirt.

But then when it was halftime, and all of a sudden, he was being forced to change into Knicks gear! Can you believe it? Like, what’s the big deal? He’s just supporting his team, and showing some love. But no, apparently, the basketball gods or whoever is in charge decided that he needed to be decked out in Knicks colors.

The New Jersey native rocked a green Philadelphia Eagles sweater over a white shirt in a show of support for his favorite NFL team as he arrived at Wells Fargo Center – and it dividing the Knicks faithful. Towns sported the sweater even as he sat on the bench during the game.

Jalen Brunson, a fellow Eagles fan, approved his teammate’s ensemble. When asked about it in an interview after the first quarter, Brunson told ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth he “absolutely” co-signed KAT wearing the sweater during a game against a Philly team in the City of Brotherly Love.

But many Knicks fans were taken aback by the bold outfit choice. “Love KAT but ew,” one wrote on X, while other added: “The timing is weird, might’ve lost a bet.”

A third asked, “You’re playing against Philly and you wear that?” And another one said: “F everything Philly related.” Toward the end of the Wednesday game, as the 76ers overcome a 16-point deficit to tie the game in the second half, Towns swapped the Eagles sweater for a Knicks jacket, though.

Well, Karl-Anthony had to explain why he had to make that gear switch; “Aye twitter, Sweat stains ain’t it on ESPN. Had to pull another fit out! anyways…GO BIRDS.”

I mean, I get it, he’s a professional athlete and all, representing the team and whatnot. But come on, let the guy wear his Eagles shirt. It’s not like it’s going to the game or anything. Plus, it’s just a fun way to show some personality and support for his favorite team.

Anyway, it was ridiculous how they made poor Karl-Anthony change his clothes at halftime.
