One night prior to the WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers, a standout player for UConn, inked a three-year contract with the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled.
In her first year in the Unrivaled league, Bueckers, the anticipated top pick in the WNBA Draft, will earn more than she did in her first four years.
Bueckers won the National Championship to cap off her legendary career at UConn. She averaged 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game in 38 games during her final year. She made 41.9 percent of her three-pointers and 53.4 percent of her field goals.
Bueckers gives herself a spot to play basketball during the WNBA offseason and earn a larger salary by joining the Unrivaled league.
In 2023, WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Naphessa Collier founded the Unrivaled league. Rose defeated Vinyl in the championship match as their first season came to an end in March. Instead of adding more teams, the league prioritized adding more talented players throughout the summer.
One of the world’s top women’s basketball players, Bueckers is predicted to be selected by the Dallas Wings with the first overall pick. When Unrivaled enters its second season the following year, she is a big addition.
