The wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill, isn’t one to back down from a challenge, especially when it’s personal. He keeps calling out and encouraging Noah Lyles to compete, believing he can defeat the Olympic gold medallist in the 100 meters. But did everything just go apart?
The NFL player, known by his nickname “Cheetah,” has never concealed his extraordinary speed. Earlier this year, he carried that competitive fire straight to the track and field athlete, who won the golden medal for Team USA in Paris in 2024.
Fans were dismayed when Lyles abruptly withdrew from the highly anticipated competition between the two sportsmen, citing “personal reasons,” following months of social media exchanges, taunting, and public buildup.
But Hill was obviously frustrated as well as disappointed. He didn’t remain mute for long, either, as Tyreek was known for saying that the sprinter was avoiding him and fleeing from a challenge.
Hill made a statement on the internet, mentioning his most recent track performance. It was a clear barb intended to make one wonder if Lyles had changed his mind: “@LylesNoah after seeing me run the 100m last weekend,”

Hill just ran an outstanding 100-meter dash in 10.15 seconds at the Last Chance Sprint Series, his first official race in almost 13 years, even though he has been away from competitive sprinting for more than ten years.
Though not very competitive with top sprinters, the outcome was more than respectable, especially given Tyreek’s primary occupation as a football player.
