LeBron James Says He Won’t Be Attending the Upcoming Olympics

LeBron James, a colleague of Dalton Knecht’s of the Los Angeles Lakers, has been playing well season after season despite being 40 years old. Knecht recently asserted that James may play until he is 50.

In the regular season, the Akron native averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists; in the playoffs, he averaged 25.4 points, 9 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.8 blocks.

The American’s exact retirement date is unknown, but LeBron James has decided on his future with the national team. He stated that he will not be attending the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. He said:

“Nothing has changed. If I had to look at it under a microscope, I’d say I’ll be able to support Team USA for the rest of my life, that’s for sure. But I don’t see myself playing. I’ve given everything I have and I’ll always be grateful, loyal and dedicated to Team USA,”

At the age of 19, having just finished his first NBA season, he made his Olympic debut in Athens in 2004. A disappointing bronze medal marked the conclusion of the competition. Following that encounter, LeBron rejoined the national squad to compete in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship, which served as a qualifying event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
