When Troy Aikman predicted that the Dallas Cowboys would win the Super Bowl, was he serious or joking about Michael Strahan?

Based on the video below, you can make your own judgment, but it appears more likely that the latter occurred on Tuesday morning’s Good Morning America than the former.

As part of the NFL’s most needlessly drawn-out announcement in human history this week, Troy Aikman and Joe Buck were on set with Robin Roberts. The NFL resumed its laborious procedure of releasing a few games as teasers for the complete schedule release.

The former SportsCenter presenter asked the veteran broadcasting team for their Super Bowl choices while they were there to announce a Packers vs. Eagles Monday Night Football game.

Joe Buck responded more conventionally, saying that the Buffalo Bills were finally over their hump. Troy Aikman then cheered for his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, to GMA co-host and former NFL colleague Michael Strahan, who shook his head in disbelief.

Given that Aikman was wondering if the Dallas Cowboys position was really desired after Mike McCarthy’s departure, this must have been just some lighthearted joking on set.
