Travis Hunter has stated that if he is not given the opportunity to play wide receiver and cornerback in the NFL, he will never play football again.

The two-way standout stated in an interview with CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell that he would prefer to give up playing football completely if an NFL organization asked him to play just one position. Hunter claims that he enjoys playing football and believes he can dominate both on defense and offense.

Hunter stated, “It’s never playing football again,” “Because I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”

“I just feel very confident in myself, and I got a competitive spirit that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I feel like I can do it.”

Travis Hunter is likely to set the NFL on fire

As a two-way collegiate football player at Colorado and Jackson State, Hunter demonstrated his amazing skill set. Hunter earned the 2024 Heisman Trophy while playing for the Buffaloes, recording 92 receptions for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns, along with an offensive touchdown rush.

Hunter’s Heisman-winning season included 36 total tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions, and a forced fumble. In addition, he became the only player in college football history to win the Fred Biletnikoff Award for most outstanding receiver and the Chuck Bednarik Award for finest defensive player.

Hunter has been projected to go in the top three in a number of mock drafts, with the Cleveland Browns leading the field in selecting the versatile playmaker. Earlier this month, Hunter’s Colorado coach, Deion Sanders, praised his two-way play at a Colorado pro day.
