Travis Hunter, the No. 2 Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Receives a Special Gift From the Panini Family

Travis Hunter had no such problems, but his friend Shedeur Sanders had to wait until Day Three — and the fifth round — to find out where he would be going to the NFL. Nobody was shocked by his draft position; only the team that selected him was. Hunter was chosen by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who traded up and gave up a lot of draft capital to make him their newest star, rather than going to the Browns with the second overall pick. His new residence? County of Duval.

Panini America quickly welcomed Hunter to their NFL family, which increased the enthusiasm. Hunter proudly carrying a Jacksonville Jaguars jersey, was featured on the special draft night edition of the sports trading card company’s inaugural NFL card, which it produced very rapidly.

Travis Hunter opens up about a special gift

When Kay Adams told Hunter about the unique gift, he couldn’t help but crack a few jokes, staying true to his fun nature. The Colorado alum joked, “Is it money?” when he was informed that he was getting a gift. Kay laughed and teasingly said that it was something he didn’t have a lot of.

Hunter continued the joke by asking if he could keep the card and making a joke about how much money he could make selling it. But in the end, he acknowledged that such a moment was too unique to ever give up.

For Travis Hunter, the card has particular significance. It represents his extraordinary journey from West Palm Beach to the NFL’s second overall pick. He said:  “You know, I never opened a 101 card before. You made that fast. Will I get to keep it? How much do you think it will go for? I ain’t selling it, it doesn’t matter. That’s tough. Just a young kid from West Palm Beach, Florida to be the 2nd pick in the NFL draft. It’s crazy,”

The announcement of Hunter’s name to the globe was made by Jaguars defensive end and current Walter Payton Man of the Year Arik Armstead, adding even another noteworthy element to his draft night.
