Following his announcement as the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, Colorado standout Travis Hunter delivered a superb acceptance speech that struck all the right notes. He was genuinely astonished at moments to be standing up there winning the most coveted trophy in college athletics, got emotional when thanking his family, and had some fun with his pals situated in the upper rafters.

Hunter stated: “Wayne, you don’t know how you came into our life, man,”. “My fiancée love you. I didn’t know none of your songs until she let me know because I don’t listen to music. She let me know. She told me, like, ‘You gotta listen to this. If you don’t listen to music, listen to Wayne.’ And from that day on, that’s all I listened to. Pregame music, those are the songs I listen to. When I get in that TRX and blast that music, I’m listening to Wayne.”

Hunter ought to have concluded his address with another Wayne line from the same song, “Excuse my charisma,” given how brilliantly it was received. Hunter had a fantastic evening, as did any rap fans who weren’t anticipating Lil Wayne’s appearance at the Heisman ceremony.
