Jake “The Snake” Roberts, another WWE Hall of Famer, was greeted by The Undertaker on a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast. The Undertaker considers Roberts to be one of the greatest wrestling minds of all time.
The Undertaker acknowledged his great respect for Roberts throughout the podcast, emphasizing the priceless teachings he took away from the legendary wrestler. He said:
“I’ve always felt like [Roberts] had one of the greatest wrestling minds that I’ve ever been around,” “Like the way he thinks about things, and the mannerisms, and the way he makes things make sense, and of course just the darkness around how it all happens was just like, man, he is brilliant.”
“I was very privileged to sit under the learning tree of Roberts,”
Character development was not the only way Roberts influenced The Undertaker. He gave helpful counsel that served as the cornerstone of The Deadman’s profession. The value of always keeping a tape recorder on hand to capture thoughts whenever inspiration strikes was one important lesson.
The Undertaker learned from Roberts that a match starts the instant a wrestler enters the curtain, not when the bell rings.
