‘The Little Mermaid,’ starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, is on track to make an almighty splash at the US box office this Memorial Day Weekend.

Per THR, Disney’s revival of the beloved 1989 film is swimming towards a launch of $125 million – after registering $38 million on its first day in theaters (May 26).

Should the number range hold, it will see ‘The Little Mermaid’s live-action remake arrive with the holidays’ fourth-biggest opening of all time (not adjusted for inflation).

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film – which is receiving rave reviews from critics and theater-goers alike – also stars Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Daveed Diggs, and Awkwafina.
