Another day, another Nicki Minaj record.
Barely two weeks after the Rap Queen was unceremoniously snubbed from mention at the 2025 GRAMMY nominations reveal has she learned she’s the recipient of major industry awards elsewhere.
Details inside.
Taking to press on Monday (November 18), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) revealed multiple of Minaj’s titles had their certification statuses updated.
See the full list below.
Diamond (for sales of 10 million in the U.S.)
- ‘Starships’ (Single)
4x Platinum
- ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ (Album)
2x Platinum
- ‘Pound the Alarm’ (Single)
- ‘Right By My Side’ (Single)
Platinum (for sales of 1 million in the U.S.)
- ‘Stupid Hoe’ (Single)
With the new awards above, Minaj now has three Diamond-certified singles to her name as the ‘Starships’ news follows previous reports of hits ‘Bang Bang‘ (2014) and ‘Super Bass‘ (2011) already crossing the sales threshold.
She now ties the first femcee to lay claim to the feat, Cardi B, in the RIAA’s record books for most Diamond-certified hits among female rappers.
As the RIAA does not include an artists’ featured hits in their respective career counts (unlike Billboard) , it’s worth nothing that Nicki is the first female rapper to be credited as a leading act on all three of her 10-million sellers (‘Super Bass,’ ‘Bang Bang,’ and ‘Starships’).
The updates push Minaj’s cumulative sales to 65.5 million in the United States – making her the best-selling female rapper of all time in the country.
