Playboy Readers Stunned by Speed Skater Joy Beune

Dutch Playboy readers are going crazy over Joy Beune. The magazine’s December issue featured the glitzy speed skater.

The magazine’s selling has demonstrated how popular 25-year-old Beune is among ice fans. Even though the most recent Dutch Playboy issue only went on sale last Thursday, it has already had to be reprinted in her home country of Holland.

Niek Stolker, the chief editor, acknowledged that this circumstance has “never happened” before.

The Dutch portal Ad was informed by him: “In the eleven years that Pijper Media has been publishing our magazine, something like this has never happened.” “Books are reprinted, but that is not usually the case with magazines.”

The first world champion to appear on the Dutch Playboy cover is Beune. She acknowledged that when she learned how many copies of the magazine had been sold, she was taken aback.

In 2024, the Dutchwoman won the title for the first time. In the team pursuit, she also won the gold medal in the 5000 meters.

But thus far in her career, she has not had the good fortune to win a medal in an Olympic Games. Buene has explained her motivation for wanting to work with Dutch Playboy on the photo session.

She stated: “There were moments when I compared myself to other speed skaters.” “They are all super slim and have incredibly toned bodies.” “Then I thought: Maybe I’m too heavy. I need to be as light as possible, that’s how I run the fastest.” “But that’s a load of nonsense. You have to eat well, you need that energy.”

Since 2019, she and fellow speed skater Kjeld Nuis, 35, have been dating.
