Matthew Golden, a wide receiver for the Texas Longhorns, has had a completely transformative year. Golden became the go-to receiver for the Longhorns after transferring from Houston, hauling in 58 receptions for a team-high 987 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also in charge of numerous historic plays, most notably saving Texas’ season against Arizona State in overtime in the Peach Bowl.

Golden has agreed to go to the NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, according to Dane Brugler of The Athletic. Golden is a projected first-round choice, like the majority of players who attend the draft.

He not only produced well at Texas and Houston before to that, but he also possesses remarkable athleticism. At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Houston native placed first among wide receivers and second overall with a 40-yard sprint time of 4.29 seconds. He frequently burnt rival defensive backs on the field, demonstrating how quickly he can move.

According to the consensus rankings of the NFL Mock Draft Database, Golden is ranked 19th overall. After Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona, who is ranked No. 11, he is the second-highest ranked receiver.
