Before Monday (December 19), only 42 songs in the Hot 100’s 64-year history had enjoyed runs at its summit that lasted longer than 10 weeks. The refreshed edition of the hitlist shows ‘All I Want for Christmas’ coming in as the 43rd.
Here are the stats that powered its tenth #1 placement.
- Streams: 41.4 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales: 11,000 U.S.-based downloads
- Radio airplay: 33.1 million radio airplay audience impressions
Among all the artists who have songs that have spent 10 consecutive or non-consecutive weeks atop the chart, only three can boast having three tunes with such lengthy tenancy: Carey (‘One Sweet Day’ – 16 weeks, ‘We Belong Together’ – 14 weeks, and ‘Christmas’ – 10 weeks), Boyz II Men (‘End of the Road’ – 13 weeks, ‘I’ll Make Love to You’ – 14 weeks, ‘One Sweet Day’ -16 weeks), and Drake (‘One Dance’ – 10 weeks, ‘God’s Plan’ – 11 weeks, ‘In My Feelings’ – 10 weeks).
Also of note, topping this week’s Hot 100 comes as Mariah’s 89th print there – extending her reign as the artist with the most career weeks at #1 overall.
