WNBA All-Star Captains Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier Were Chosen by Fans

The league revealed on Sunday that Caitlin Clark, a guard for the Indiana Fever, and Napheesa Collier, a forward for the Minnesota Lynx, were the top two fan vote winners and will be the captains of the WNBA All-Star Game.

On July 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET, ABC will broadcast the match between Team Clark and Team Collier at the Fever‘s Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Collier received 1,176,020 fan votes, while Clark received 1,293,526. When the NBA free agency special airs on ESPN Monday at 7 p.m. ET, the remaining eight starters—as determined by fans (50%), players (25%), and the media (25%).

Clark said: “It’s cool that fans get to be a part of it and have a little impact on the game,” “It’s going to be special to do it here in this city. … Trying to make it the best All-Star that the WNBA has ever had. It’s certainly a cool honor.”

“Obviously I’m going to try and get my teammates on my team, that’s the goal,”. “Once they come out with whoever has made it and whoever hasn’t, I’ll get to pick and choose. I don’t know how it works.”

In Clark’s second season in the WNBA, it is her second All-Star selection. Collier, who was selected in the 2019 draft, is the fifth All-Star selection overall.
