Only three songs in the 66-year-history of the Hot 100 can boast having spent over 52 weeks in the chart’s top 10, and this week Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ became one of them.
No stranger to invading music record books, ‘Bar Song’ already sits as the longest-reigning solo #1 hit ever on both the Pop (Hot 100) and Country Songs charts.
Continuing its Billboard domination, the Nevin Sastry-produced cut enjoyed its 57th print on the former tally this week – landing a #4.
A historic feat as 53 of its 57-week-run were spent in the Hot 100’s top 10, the tune’s Virginia-born owner now becomes the first African American to boast tenancy in the chart region for over a year with one song.
On the all-time list, Canadian hitmaker The Weeknd‘s ‘Blinding Lights‘ (57) and Teddy Swims‘ ‘Lose Control‘ (62) are the only two hits to have stayed in the top 10 longer.
