When the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Luka Doncic, it was one of the most unexpected trades in sports history. Almost everyone in the sports world was taken aback by this deal, but what is probably most shocking is that LeBron James apparently did not even anticipate this move.

It seems that James, who many believe is in charge of his team, was unaware that such a move was imminent. The four-time NBA MVP was told of the deal after Saturday night’s victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

LeBron James learned of the Davis-Doncic trade after the Knicks game when it broke while he was out to dinner with his family, sources close to James told ESPN. James was surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works, sources said.

Anthony Davis like LeBron James had no clue about the trade

According to reports, James had “no idea” that anything was happening and is still “processing” the transaction. Shams Charania claims that Davis was taken aback by the action as well. Doncic is also still recovering from his shock.

Though it wasn’t made because of James, this is a truly league-changing move that will alter the trajectory of the Lakers’ and Mavericks’ franchise histories.
