Karl-Anthony Towns Gets a “Warning” From Anthony Edwards

Karl-Anthony Towns led the team in regular-season games with 40 points or more during his nine years in Minnesota. But after his offensive outburst last night, Anthony Edwards, who is only in his sixth NBA season, has tied KAT’s record.

Against the struggling Chicago Bulls, the 23-year-old scored 49 points, marking his 13th career 40-point performance. Edwards made a joke about going for number 14 and Towns’ reign following the 127-108 victory at Target Center.

During the interview in the locker room, Ant joked: “KAT, I’m on your a**,” “Nah, that’s dope man. I didn’t know that, so thank you. And hopefully, I can get some more,”

Against the Bulls last night, the shooting guard was on fire. He constantly attacked the rim by using his gravity at the arc and made 6 of 14 three-point attempts. He was making contact and reaching the charity stripe when he wasn’t completing the play over the rim.

Ant-Man tied his career-high in both attempts and made free throws by making 17 of his 18 foul shots. He was only 4 points away from matching his career-high of 53 points at the end of the game. However, he tied Towns as the team’s top 40-point scorer with his 49-point explosion, which was the third-highest scoring performance of his career.

The fact that Edwards’ first response was a lighthearted jab at his former colleague says a lot about how he and his former teammate got along.
