Kandi Burruss is opening up about her decision to depart the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’

As reported, the booked and busy mogul announced that she will be exiting the popular Bravo series after 14 seasons as a full-time cast member. A move that ends the longest concurrent stint in the entire history of the franchise.

Stopping by the Tamron Hall Show to talk about her many ventures, Burruss was quizzed in earnest about what led to her leaving the show ahead of its 16th season.

While an RHOA cast shake-up has been confirmed, and is one that has seen Porsha Williams return and Marlo Hampton exit, Burruss insists the decision to leave was entirely hers.

Waxing candidly about the circumstances that led to her pondering her position on the show, she pointed to the filming of the show’s 15th season – which she commenced shooting straight after wrapping the super tense ‘SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B.’

Explaining the situation to Hall, she said:

“I was getting into it with people on and off camera.”

Delving into she made the choice not to return, the multihyphenate added:

“I want to take a leap of faith to see what I can make happen. There were some big opportunities that I had to pass up on because I was doing the show. So, I was like ‘if I’m not doing the show this year, let me see how it can work and still have a happy and peaceful life’.”

As for her future with the network, it’s all looking positive:

“We’re still doing things together [with Bravo] outside of the show. I’m still part of the Bravo family. Things that we haven’t announced [yet]. We’re still going to do things together.”
