Jonathan Majors: New Trial Date Set as Judge Rejects Motion to Dismiss Case Against Star

Jonathan Majors will be heading to trial after all.

The actor has been embroiled in a seismic legal battle since his March arrest.

As extensively reported, the star stands accused of domestic violence following an incident with his former lover, Grace Jabarri.

Since being charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment, Majors has adamantly denied the claims, with his attorneys insisting he was “provably the victim” in the matter.

Adding to what is already a layered case, reports hit the wire this week indicating that Jabarri was to be arrested for domestic violence against Majors.

Now, after many a delay, it’s been confirmed that the trial will be taking place next month.

At a hearing that took place today (October 25), a New York judge Michael Gaffey rejected a motion to dismiss the case filed by Majors’ legal team.

Appearing at the hearing via Zoom, Majors learned that a trial has been set for November 29.

The 34-year-old’s team – who assert that surveillance footage of Jabbari  “completely unharmed” proves his version – filed a request for “contested evidence” to remain under seal and disallowed for public view because of the ”high profile” nature of the case.

Seth Zuckerman, from Majors’ defense team, added that he believes “the disclosure of sensitive information will limit Mr. Majors’ right to a fair trial.”

Prosecutors have until November 6 to file a motion should they want to contest.
