Jodie Turner-Smith is seeking financial support from her estranged husband Joshua Jackson as their divorce drama grows increasingly contentious.

Court filings obtained by In Touch reveal the ‘Queen & Slim’ actress is seeking spousal and child support, citing the disparity between her income and the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star’s colossal earnings.

Turner-Smith, 38, claims Joshua earned $2.35 million in 2022—an average of $195,000 per month. By comparison, she reported an average monthly income of $87,500, though she made $245,000 last month. Despite this, Turner-Smith says her expenses, including $40,000 in rent, $1,800 on groceries, and $6,000 to support family members, leave her stretched financially.

In her petition, Jodie requested $28,641 per month in temporary spousal support, $8,543 in monthly child support for their 4-year-old daughter, Juno, and a $250,000 lump sum to cover legal fees and hire a forensic accountant.

She explained in the filing:

“During our marriage, Josh historically made more money than me and at times, significantly more.”

Turner-Smith also accused Joshua of failing to provide financial assistance since their separation:

“Josh has paid me $0 in guideline child and/or spousal support since our separation. He has also made $0 contribution to my attorneys and forensic accountant fees.”

In her filings, the star said she has tried to keep the process amicable:

“I have done everything I can to meet Josh halfway on every issue, to no avail. All I have asked for since the inception of this matter is to be allowed to maintain the strong relationship between Juno and me while managing a full-time work schedule to support our daughter and myself.”

She detailed the financial challenges she’s faced, adding:

“I have since had to establish my residence based on where I am able to find work, more specifically, in London, UK, for the last several months. All I want is to be able to afford to purchase a home in Los Angeles and to support our daughter.”

According to Turner-Smith, Jackson had assured her that financial security wouldn’t be an issue:

“Josh promised to always support me and ensured me that I would not have to worry about financial security for our daughter if we ever separated because he said he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother.”

However, she claims he is now failing to follow through:

“Now, he is reneging on that promise and using litigation tactics and delay to pressure me into agreeing to a settlement that is neither equitable nor has any legal foundation.”

Turner-Smith emphasized that their daughter became accustomed to a high-end lifestyle during the marriage, which included luxury travel and other perks:

“We enjoyed all the amenities of the lifestyle of a global superstar and, of course, our daughter enjoyed these experiences.”

She also noted she contributed $800,000 to the down payment on their marital home, only to be asked to leave after their split. She accused Joshua of complicating the legal process and running up her legal bills, which have exceeded $412,000:

“[He] has made this dissolution far more difficult than necessary.”

Her filings highlight her plea to maintain stability for herself and their daughter as the divorce progresses.
