Jalen Hurts Comments Shows Divide in Eagles

Jalen Hurts is one of many to be frustrated with his team’s play. After the Eagles’ tight victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, frustration over a passing attack that hasn’t found its rhythm surfaced.

The Eagles are now 11-2 after winning nine in a row. Under the leadership of MVP contender Saquon Barkley, the ground game is still booming. Throughout the season, the defense has performed better than expected.

On Sunday, quarterback Jalen Hurts finished with 108 yards on 21 passing attempts, continuing the troubles of an aerial assault that includes some elite players, like as receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

On an afternoon when Barkley set a new team mark for rushing yards in a single season (1,623), the ground game amassed 209 yards at an average of 6.7 yards per attempt.

Jalen Hurts and the team comment on passing patterns

The Eagles had a season-low 307 passing attempts going into Week 14. Barkley’s skill and the team’s success have allowed the receivers to accept their diminished roles.

On a few occasions, Brown easily outscored one-on-one coverage and went untargeted. It wasn’t until the last seconds of the first half when he received a pass. After a three-and-out in the second quarter, he left the field and threw his helmet.

Smith stated when asked what the issue is: “Being on the same page,”. “Thinking the same. Seeing the right signals. Just going out there and making it work.”

“Being on the same page” sounds like a worry if you are an Eagles fan and the last thing you want to hear. Multi-million dollar contracts with their thousand perks of job and the team can’t bother to be on the “same page”?

Regarding the passing game, Hurts stated: “I think [the Panthers] did a good job; I think we did a bad job,”  “That starts with me, how I execute. Ultimately, you yearn and I yearn for better synchronization, for a more complimentary style of ball, in a sense.”

“You know, some things don’t get you until it gets you. And there’s definitely been some urgency there, trying to figure it out. And got to keep climbing and trying to progress.”

Your guess is as good as ours regarding Unity in Eagles. What we do know for certain is they have to fix it quickly if they want to win something important.
