Last month, TJ and Amy were seen smiling and hugging on a Los Angeles sidewalk, just hours after ABC announced they had parted ways. Following an investigation into their relationship, ABC announced that TJ and Amy would not be rehired because "we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News." “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News,” an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement in January. “We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.” Sources spilled to Radar Online that the anchors negotiated a big payout at the network while quietly speaking with NewsNation about having a safe place to land. "Amy, in particular, is very close to NewsNation president Michael Corn," a GMA insider told Radar Online, noting the network boss is sympathetic to Amy and T.J.'s situation due to his own experiences. While it is unknown how much each former anchor received from the network, an insider told Page Six that Amy received a higher settlement than Holmes. "Amy's been at ABC much longer and has a much bigger contract [than T.J.]," another source said. TJ’s problematic behavior at work first made headlines in November 2022, when his months-long affair with his married "GMA3" co-anchor was made public. Since then, there have been several reports detailing T.J.'s extramarital affairs. The revelation of TJ and Amy’s affair caused both of their 12-year marriages to end.
