T-Pain raised eyebrows this week after reflecting on Drake‘s past advice about know when to bow out of the spotlight – gracefully.
Now, Drizzy has responded and he, unsurprisingly, isn’tt receptive of what the auto-tune king had to say.
Full details below…
In a recent interview, the ‘Buy U a Drank’ hitmaker shared a gem Drizzy once dropped on him: the importance of exiting the game before being pushed out. But T-Pain didn’t stop there – he bolding claimed Drake isn’t even following his own advice, he said:
“One thing I learned from Drake, but one thing he hasn’t followed its own words. Drake said, I want to be one of the people that gracefully bow out and not get kicked out… I have ever since that.. Appreciate y’all [peace hand sign]. I’ll see y’all. I see y’all when I drop. Don’t worry about it. I’ll just drop something. Let me know if you heard it. Drake is like, ‘No, listen. Okay, I got another one. Check this out… Y’all didn’t like that one? Okay, real quick, just one more. Let me try one more.
He’s the person that he said, you know, he didn’t want to be, and I learned that from him. Like, when he said that, I want to gracefully bow and not get kicked out.”
The ‘Nokia’ rapper didn’t waste time catching the shade. He slid into the comments with a jab of his own, saying:
“This guy always had resentment for me [laughing emoji]. You can hear it every time he speaks on my name.”
Yikes.
The irony? These two have long shared mutual admiration. Their paths crossed through Lil Wayne’s YMCMB empire, and they’ve both sampled and praised each other’s work.
T-Pain, who helped pioneer the melodic Rap wave, has yet to clap back. What is for sure is that the tension is tangible.
