The ‘Wicked’ actress will take on a whopping 23 roles in this gothic tale. She will play the likes of Dracula, Jonathan Harker to Mina Murray, Lucy Westenra, and Van Helsing.
It has been confirmed that the show will be a blend of live performance with pre-recorded video, camera choreography, and seamless multi-character roleplay.
This is a major event because it marks Erivo’s return to theater since her Tony-winning performance as Celie in ‘The Color Purple.’
Though ‘Dracula’ isn’t a musical, the actress will perform an original song at the show’s conclusion, composed by Clemence Williams, who earned a Tony nomination recently for sound design for ‘Dorian Gray.’
Also, the director of ‘Dracula’, Kip Williams, and the singer-actress are building this show from the ground up. She has gone on record to say she loves this because she has creative freedom to reinterpret who Dracula is.
The news adds to Erivo’s packed schedule, which includes hosting the 78th Tony Awards in June, starring in the upcoming action thriller ‘Karoshi,’ and playing Jesus in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at the Hollywood Bowl.
There’s also the approaching promotional push for ‘Wicked For Good.’
‘Dracula’ is set to open February 4, 2026, at the Noël Coward Theatre with a limited 16-week run.
