Cher Lloyd has revealed a shocking behind-the-scenes industry moment in a recent interview with Paul Brunson.

The ‘Swagger Jagger’ singer, who shot to fame on ‘The X Factor UK,’ in 2010 revealed early in her career she was advised to pursue Justin Bieber to catapult her success.

During the vulnerable deep dive on the ‘We Need To Talk’ podcast Llyod spilled:

“We spent millions on this album but there’s no budget to get people to go hear it. I walk in and I say, ‘Look, I really need some cash to try and push this record.’ Basically, [I was ] told no…what I needed to do to make this record take off was hit some of the clubs and find out where Bieber is and go try and get with him.”

Insulted by the suggestion, ‘Head Down’ singer Cher did not take the advice. She reflected on her thoughts at the time saying:

“Was I not good enough? Was I not good enough to invest in that you would rather use me in that way? They didn’t care.”

Fans are applauding the artist for standing her ground. Now 31, married and a mother of two, Cher is focused on her family and music.
