Buckle up because things just got spicy in the Trevor Bauer case. In case you haven’t been following along, the whole situation with Bauer and his accuser Lindsey Hill has been all over the news. But get this – a court just ordered Hill to pay Bauer a whopping $300k for violating their settlement agreement. Talk about a plot twist!
Now, I’m not a legal expert, but apparently, Hill went against the terms of their settlement agreement and now, she has to cough out $300k to the former MLB star.
On Monday, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the woman to pay more than $300,000 for violating the terms of a settlement agreement.
Lindsey Hill accused Bauer of sexual assault in 2021, leading to an MLB investigation that resulted in a massive suspension for Bauer. They would ultimately settle their lawsuits in 2023, with Bauer suing Hill for defamation while she sued for assault and sexual battery.
Bauer lost his career over the allegations.
It was agreed that neither party would pay the other, but that changed after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Crowley ordered Hill to pay Bauer $309,832.02.
Lindsey Hill—the woman whose sexual assault allegations led to Bauer’s suspension from Major League Baseball—was penalized for making 22 public statements about the settlement—each carrying a $10,000 contractual price tag.
In a sworn declaration, Trevor Bauer said he suspected Hill might violate the settlement agreement by making untrue statements that she received money as part of their accord.
“Because Hill has a long history of making false and defamatory claims against me on social media, I was concerned that Hill would falsely claim that I paid her to resolve the lawsuit,” Bauer said per ABC.
This case just keeps getting crazier by the day. Who knows what’s next in the Bauer saga? Stay here folks, because I have a feeling this story is far from over.
