Chance the Rapper has reached another major career milestone.

And this time it’s thanks to ‘I’m The One’ – his collaboration with DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, and Quavo.

The track has hit Diamond status, and the MC has made history in the process.

Certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the track has now sold 10 million equivalent units in the U.S.

In doing so, it sees Chance become the first independent solo act to achieve this feat.

The star was officially presented with his Diamond plaque during his hometown performance at the 2025 NHL Winter Classic in Chicago.

During the seismic set, he rocked the stage with hits such as ‘I’m the One,’ ‘No Problem,’ ‘Cocoa Butter Kisses,’ and ‘All Night.’

Speaking on shining Diamond with the song (which has amassed 1.8 billion views on YouTube), Chance gushed:

“‘I’m the One’ has been such a special record for me since the day we created it. To see this track go Diamond is a testament to the connection it’s made with so many people. Shout out to Khaled, Quavo, Justin, and Wayne! Every time I perform this song, it brings an undeniable energy, and the fans’ love for it never wavers. Getting to play it live on New Year’s Eve in front of my hometown crowd, in the greatest city in the world—there’s truly nothing better and I’m beyond thankful!”

Chance’s latest win adds to a growing list of “firsts” he has achieved as an independent artist. Indeed, he was the first independent act to win multiple GRAMMY Awards, including three wins for his streaming-only mixtape ‘Coloring Book,’ and the first to host and perform on Saturday Night Live without a traditional record deal.

He also notably broke new ground when his critically acclaimed project ‘Acid Rap’ charted despite being a free release.
