News that Nicki Minaj‘s new album is set to top the Billboard 200 isn’t sitting well with some Cardi B fans (affectionately called the #BardiGang).
Details inside.
Not even 24 hours after its release, industry analysts took to press to reveal Nicki’s December 8-released ‘Pink Friday 2‘ had already garnered a commercial response so strong it will easily nab the top spot of the Billboard 200 after its inaugural sales tracking week ends.
If the prediction rings true, ‘PF2’ will not only become her history-making third #1 on the tally (following 2010’s ‘Pink Friday‘ and 2012’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’) but will also mark the biggest first-week sales of any female Rap album released this year.
As reports of the out-of-the-box success of the project spread across social media, a few dedicated fans of Minaj’s nemesis – the chart-topping Rap diva Cardi – launched a campaign to stream and purchase the GRAMMY winner’s 2018 debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy.’

The galvanizing call incited a quick response as ‘Privacy,’ five years after its arrival to digital outlets, surged in sales so much it entered the top 5 of the real-time iTunes chart (USA) and has been there for hours as of time of this report.
For context, the LP – filled with smashes like ‘I Like It’ and ‘Bodak Yellow’ – is outselling current hit albums like Taylor Swift‘s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version),‘ Jung Kook‘s ‘Golden,’ and even a slew of seasonal top-sellers like Mariah Carey‘s ‘Merry Christmas’ as well as Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson‘s respective Christmas albums.

Cardi’s American #BardiGang aren’t the only ones getting in on the action.
Peruse of the worldwide iTunes chart shows the ‘Bongos’ hitmaker on the rise as international fans have also united to get her to the list’s upper rankings.

While the #BardiGang’s effort won’t be enough to block Nicki’s dash to #1, it may prove potent enough to help ‘Privacy’ re-enter the all-genre chart.
Boasting a 222-week stay, the album ranks as the longest-charting female Rap project in the Billboard 200’s history.
