At the Super Bowl, John Rocker and Patrick Mahomes Sr. Nearly Punch Each Other

On Tuesday, a video that went viral on the internet showed former Braves bad boy John Rocker bumping with the father of the Kansas Chiefs quarterback, former Mets pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr.

Although Rocker seems friendly when he sees Mahomes, the former Met does not want to interact with Rocker, whose antics turned him into a bitter adversary among New York supporters. It was hard to hear what the two were saying.

The two almost clash as the altercation intensifies. Rocker flings his drink at Mahomes as he is being led away.

Patrick Mahomes Sr and John Rocker’s feud carries on X

With every social media post on Tuesday, the battle went on. Rocker wrote on X: “This [bleeping] loser can’t take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bullshit weekend even more.”

In response to Rocker, Mahomes said:  “You really haven’t changed one bit in the last 25 years. Keep my name out your loud mouth.”

In response, Rocker said:  “You wouldn’t have had the balls to say that to my face the other night. Lanky [bleep] clown.”

In both 1999 and 2000, when New York qualified for the postseason, Mahomes was a pitcher for the Mets. From 1998 to 2001, Rocker was a pitcher for Atlanta.

The Braves defeated the Mets in six games during the 1999 National League Championship Series. The most noteworthy part of the series is Robin Ventura’s Game 4 grand slam single.

Atlanta defeated the Mets by a single game in 2000. On their way to winning the World Series, New York grabbed the wild card. Rocker’s racist and homophobic remarks about New York in a Sports Illustrated story generated news prior to the season.
