As Trump and Musk Engage in a Heated Political Dispute, Stephen A. Smith Takes Sides

In the midst of a heated online dispute with former President Donald Trump, Stephen A. Smith has publicly endorsed Elon Musk’s audacious attempt to transform American politics and sided with the billionaire tech tycoon’s demand for a new centrist political party.

Musk has over 220 million X followers. On Thursday, he posted a series of divisive tweets condemning Trump and demanding his impeachment, which set off a political tempest. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla attacked Trump’s trade policies, claiming they will cause a recession in the US.

Musk then took it a step further, claiming that Trump was listed in documents connected to the late sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein in a post that shocked the internet and has already had close to 180 million views.

After seeming to embrace Trump and right-wing politics for years, the billionaire has made a major change. Musk is now suggesting a bold new course for the future while separating himself from both main parties. He posed this question to his followers in one of his posts:

“Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?”

Smith immediately supported the proposal, never one to back down from controversial subjects. In a direct response to Musk’s remark, the ESPN pundit and vocal cultural critic said on X:

“Mr. @elonmusk I’m all for moving America to the CENTER. I’m definitely down for that cause! Sign me up!!!”

Smith’s backing is significant not only because to his sway over the media but also because of his growing seriousness about running for president in the future. Despite having no prior political experience, Smith may outperform a number of well-known Democrats in a hypothetical 2028 presidential contest, according to a startling national poll released earlier this year.
