Following his technical foul on Thursday night, which puts him at even greater risk of suspension, Draymond Green issued a succinct but forceful statement.
After receiving his fifth postseason technical foul in Thursday night’s Game 2 of the Golden State Warriors‘ second-round series loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves (117–93), Draymond Green took less than 20 seconds to make a powerful statement.
Green elbowed Timberwolves player Naz Reid in the face on a play in the second quarter of the game, earning him a technical foul.
After Green fumbled the ball while trying to make a pass and struck Reid in the face with his elbow as he attempted to pivot his body, Reid was first given a reaching violation. After the call, Green became agitated, and Steph Curry, an injured Warriors guard, came off the bench to calm him down. To try defuse the issue, coach Steve Kerr substituted him out of the game.
Green said: “I’m not an angry Black man, I’m a very successful, educated Black man with a great family. And I’m great at basketball, I’m great at what I do. The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry Black man is crazy. I’m sick of it, it’s ridiculous,”
Draymond Green just wanted to give one quick postgame statement: “The agenda to continue to keep making me look like an angry black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s ridiculous.” pic.twitter.com/ay7TLFhjWL

Green is two games away from receiving a suspension after receiving five technicals in just nine postseason games. Losing a player as crucial as him in a close playoff series would be difficult for any team, but with Curry expected to be sidelined for at least a week, the stakes are even higher.
