Anthony Edwards‘ sneaker company took a stab at their rivals after the Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the Los Angeles Lakers by defeating them in five games of the first-round Western Conference NBA playoff series. The rivals, of course, famously signed LeBron James to a lifetime sponsorship contract, paying him about $32 million a year for the billion-dollar deal.

Adidas further trolled the Lakers for losing to the Timberwolves in five games by using Anthony Edwards’ Spider-Man gesture.

The caption on a picture of 23-year-old Edwards making a Spider-Man gesture following a 3-pointer—he led the league with 320 this season—reads, “The King Slayer,” obviously alluding to LeBron’s most well-known moniker, King James.

Anthony Edwards calls LeBron James the best player ever

In addition, Edwards unveiled his brand-new “Metallic Grey” Adidas AE 1 Low, which is a part of his own footwear and clothing collection with the German company.

The Timberwolves won the series because to Rudy Gobert’s incredible double-double effort of 27 points and 24 rebounds, even though Edwards was the best player on the court most of the time, including James, 40. Following the game, Ant expressed his affection for King James by saying: “We beat the best player in the world… the best player ever.”

Many would still contend that the greatest player of all time on the court is Michael Jordan, who became a multibillionaire thanks to the Jordan brand. There is still no competition in the sneaker industry.

The Jordan brand continues to reign supreme. However, Edwards can be considered a kingslayer for a single night and a single series.
