Following his altercation with well-known streamer Adin Ross at UFC 314, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has been threatened with legal action.
O’Neal decided to attend the event, which featured Alexander Volkanovski versus Diego Lopes in the octagon at Kaseya Center in Miami prior to the NBA playoffs run. Streamer Ross shared a video of O’Neal and him exchanging what appeared to be extremely heated words on his own Instagram account during the bout.
There was some continuous tension throughout the night, as evidenced by another video that showed the former Los Angeles Lakers jawing and gazing at Ross. Ross posted the following on his Instagram Story, seemingly anticipating a punch from the former basketball player: “@shaq please do it, I can’t wait to sue”.
The ‘fight’ between the two is thought to have begun in March 2025 when Ross swatted Shaq’s food out of his hand, although O’Neal simply gave him a stern look that time.
Shaquille O’Neal and his controversial NBA takes
Shaquille O’Neal, who never holds back when expressing his opinions, recently gave his thoughts on the NBA’s present situation and the reasons it has changed since he was a player.
He talked about LeBron James and his almost-endless supply of youth, among other things. The 40-year-old is still a vital member of the Los Angeles Lakers and doesn’t appear to be slowing down, though Shaq claims to understand why.
When questioned if the league’s lack of physicality is the reason for James’ longevity, Shaq responded: “Definitely,” “Less physical. Right now, if you get a flagrant foul, you get fined (and) suspended. Guys aren’t even f***ing fouling hard no more.
“Back before I played it was crazy, but when I played it was crazy… People get mad. It’s just a product of what I see.”
