VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes Admits Doing Too Much With Viral Flop In Chiefs-Texans Game

Okay, so we’ve all seen the viral flop from Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs-Texans game, right? I mean, it was all over the Socials and everyone had an opinion about it. Well, now Mahomes is finally speaking up and admitting that maybe he did a little too much with that flop.

Mahomes appeared on 96.5 The Fan’s “The Drive” on Wednesday and when asked about the viral flop, he had no option but to own up to his actions. According to him, he probably shouldn’t have done that.

We’ve got to give the Mahomes credit for owning up to his actions. It takes a lot of courage to admit when you’ve done something wrong, especially when it’s in front of millions of people.

“I would say the only one I felt like I probably did too much was the one on the sideline where I didn’t get the flag,” the 29-year-old said. “The ref saw it and didn’t throw a flag, I understood it immediately and know that I probably shouldn’t have done that.”

Mahomes did defend himself in another instance that raised eyebrows after he drew an unnecessary roughness penalty … claiming he did what he had to do in order to avoid getting “smoked” and potentially injuring himself.

As for the chatter about getting favorable calls, Mahomes said he doesn’t pay any attention to it … as people are going to talk no matter what happens on the field.

Mahomes added he feels the refs are doing their best jobs … and one call didn’t affect the outcome of Saturday’s game.

So let’s cut the Mahomes some slack and remember that even the best athletes have their off moments. We’re all human, after all. Mahomes is a class act and I do not doubt that he’ll make things right next time.
