Victor Wembanyama to Miss the Rest of the Season

An unfortunate blow to the San Antonio Spurs is that star big man Victor Wembanyama is likely to miss the remainder of the season because of a blood clot in his shoulder.

The club just minutes ago revealed that Wemby, age 21, had been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. The Spurs said that the French baller’s ailment was found after he returned from San Francisco’s All-Star Weekend when he scored six and eleven points in Team Chuck’s two games in the four-team event.

Although the 7’3″ center is probably going to miss the rest of the 2024–25 season because of the problem, the team stated that it will release additional information as it becomes available.

For the new-look Spurs, who recently made a significant trade for star player De’Aaron Fox, Wemby was averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. When the Spurs played the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft was first labeled as doubtful because of an “illness.”

San Antonio will now try to improve, both literally and figuratively, on its 23-29 record without its best player.
