A California jury has ordered the rapper to cough up over $4 million in compensatory damages to his former assistant, Jane Doe, who accused him of sexual assault, physical abuse, and captivity in a 2021 lawsuit.

The jury’s verdict, delivered on April 10, comes after chilling claims that include Doe being locked in a room without hot water, enduring multiple assaults, and fearing for her life during one violent episode in August 2020.

The ‘Kiss Me Thru the Phone’ rapper spoke to Rolling Stone, commenting on the allegations, saying:

“The district attorney never filed charges. I was never charged or convicted of this criminally. So, to be accused of this civilly is beyond me. I’ve never done any of the things they’re accusing me of. I just feel like this is very unfair.”

According to the complaint, Doe was hired in December 2018 for tasks like cooking and cleaning, but within weeks, the rapper allegedly began sending unsolicited photos of his genitals. A brief romantic relationship allegedly turned violent, with multiple incidents of physical abuse.

Doe’s attorney Ron Zambrano said in a statement that:

“We’re happy our client was vindicated and the jury believed her claims.”
