As reported here, the legendary diva not only ended 2022 with news she was gearing up for her first official North American tour since 1995 but also with the announcement she’d be showcasing some new music alongside her fan favorites.

A promise first mentioned after she spent most of 2021 fighting for ownership of her iconic hits (even calling on longtime fans to boycott the stream of her music until she could get the tangled tunes out of their ‘unfair’ contract), her victory there gave the green light for new material – the first of which was originally slated to drop on January 5.

And while the new song’s official release has been pushed back to an unconfirmed date, Baker took to Twitter Monday night (January 9) – as seen in the tweet above – to confirm she’s still hard-at-work putting finishing touches on it.

At writing, Anita has not revealed the cut’s title but the snippet alone was enough to whet appetites and send her faithful fans into a frenzy.

The song will be the first taste of new music fans have gotten since the 64-year-old shelved what would’ve been her seventh traditional studio album – 2012’s ‘Only Forever’ (led by the GRAMMY-nominated remake of Tyrese‘s hit ‘Lately‘).
