The Denver Nuggets wanted to make it to the Western Conference Finals going into Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It appeared that momentum was achievable after tied the series 3-3. However, those dreams were dashed in a 125-93 loss that halted their postseason run and ended Russell Westbrook‘s first season in Denver.
Westbrook’s future with the team is now the focus. This summer, the seasoned guard can choose to forego the last year of his current contract thanks to a player option.
When asked if Russ had decided on that option following the defeat in Game 7, he steered clear of a direct response. After taking a quick look at his watch, Westbrook flipped the question to the reporter.
He inquired: “What are you wearing tomorrow?”
Reporter to Westbrook: “Have you made a decision on your player option for next season?”
Russ: Looks at watch… “What are you wearing tomorrow?”
Reporter: “I don’t know.”
Westbrook: “Exactly.” … Walks off

Westbrook said, “Exactly,” and turned to leave when the reporter said he didn’t know. Last year, Westbrook agreed to a two-year contract worth $6.7 million with the Nuggets. The contract provides an average yearly salary of $3,386,366 and includes $6,772,731 in guaranteed funds.
