Rolling Stone Ranks Usher #4 Behind Michael Jackson & Prince on List of Best Male-Headlined Super Bowl Halftime Shows of All Time

Usher‘s highly anticipated headlining gig of the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 11) helped the big game run into record books as the most-watched television program in history.

Among the eyes glued to the electrifying showing were the good folks at ‘Rolling Stone’ who were clearly pleased with what they saw.

So much so, they have already updated their ‘greatest Super Bowl Halftime Shows’ list to include the R&B crooner in its higher rankings.

Details inside.

Armed with high octane choreography and a brigade of dancers, the ‘Yeah‘ hitmaker A-Town stomped all up and through the Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium to a megamix of his greatest hits including ‘U Got It Bad,’ ‘My Boo,’ ‘Caught Up,’ ‘Nice & Slow,’ and more.

Scoring a critical touchdown with his dedicated fans, the 45-year-old also had a slew of celebrities like Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Serena Williams, Anita Baker, and others singing his praises.

Among the latest to make headlines for cheering on the R&B crooner is ‘Rolling Stone,’ which ranked his set as the fourth greatest male-led halftime show in history.  Per their list, only Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, and Prince‘s respective headlining gigs were better.

In fitting company given that Ush said his show would be a nod to their respective legacies.  Speaking on the 8x GRAMMY winner, the mag said:

“[He] didn’t go for big thrills or surprises in his set—just the Atlanta love man luxuriating in his comfort zone with glitzy confidence. Usher did a millennial- friendly set of 2000s R&B love-in-the-club oldies, with old friends like Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Jermaine Dupri,” they relayed.
