Report: Selena’s Convicted Murderer Yolanda Saldívar Says She Wants to Work for Shakira If Paroled in 2025

If multiple reports are to be believed, a 30-year stint in prison for murdering Tejano music superstar Selena wasn’t enough to deter Yolanda Saldivar from wanting to resume a career in the music industry upon her potential release in 2025.

According to multiple Latin news outlets including Hola.com, Telemundo, The Latin Times, and ¡Despierta América!, Saldívar shared her ambitions of wanting to return to the entertainment industry in a recent interview.

Her dream job upon reintegrating into society? Working as assistant to beloved Colombian hitmaker Shakira, whose massive career she’s followed closely from behind bars.

While the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer nor a rep from her camp has directly responded to the news (at writing), her fans have set social media ablaze with a mix of posts ranging from anger to fear.

Longtime fans of Selena (born Selena Quintanilla) know why.

Yolanda served as the president of the GRAMMY winner’s fan club and manager of her boutiques before the ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’ beauty’s family fired her for embezzlement from both organizations in early March 1995.

On March 31 of that year, she reportedly shot and killed the iconic songstress.

In the nearly 30 years since, Saldivar has maintained the media’s “made her out to be a monster” and that her “conscience is clear” because she “did not kill Selena…it was an accident.”

She will undoubtedly be the center of many-a-media piece come March 30, 2025, if her anticipated release from prison goes as scheduled.
